Getting to know George Wise…

I became a lawyer because… I've always been interested in the environment and its abuse by industry and corporations. I originally thought to practice environmental law but my focus expanded to concern for victims of corporate abuse in all areas.

What I like most about the law is… our system of civil justice. I firmly believe that the thing which makes the American system of justice unique and the best in the world is the jury trial. No other country allows its citizens the right and ability to participate in its civil justice system in as broad a way as the United States. Juries, instead of those who may be in power at a particular moment, are the conscience of our communities.

I joined The Brad Hendricks Law Firm because… I respected the quality of the attorneys at the firm. Lamar Porter and I had worked together at another law firm and I knew the quality of his work and that we would work well together.

What makes The Brad Hendricks Law Firm different from other lawyers? This law firm has integrity. Opposing lawyers know they can take our word on any aspect of a case. We don't have to misrepresent facts or try to trick them. We are honest about our facts and our position and are not afraid to go to court to prove it.

If I had to attempt another profession, I would try… Novelist or playwright

A job I would never choose is… executioner. Killing is just plain wrong.

Someone I really admire is… The Dalai Lama

My favorite book is… Anything by Mark Twain or Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

My favorite sport's team is… The ones my sons happen to be playing on at the time.

My favorite music is… Jazz

A sound or noise I love is… The quiet sounds in the woods after a snow.

Outside of my family, my most treasured belonging is… Several recipes in my grandmother's handwriting. She was a great cook and let me help cook as soon as I could stand on a stool at the kitchen counter.

When not at work, I enjoy… being with my family
