Getting to Know Lyndsey D. Dilks...

I became a lawyer because… my mother said I would be a good one since I would argue about anything, even with a fence post. She honestly said those things, but I became a lawyer to provide assistance to those in need. I want to help.

What I like most about the law is… researching the law and finding just the right case that will allow me to provide the result that my client deserves.

When you need an attorney…you are usually in a difficult position, so you want to find an attorney who understands this difficult time and is knowledgeable enough to help bring you through it.

My most disappointing case was… a husband and wife invested in real estate and built three new homes, putting the home they had lived in for 30 years up as collateral. The new homes never sold. The bank refused to work with them and took their home, along with the others. The only good thing that came of the case was that the couple moved closer to their children and grandchildren. They were sad to let go of the house, but happy to be rid of the headache.

What is a word you hate? Impossible...anything is possible.

A sound or noise I love is… The sigh my dog makes just before she falls asleep.

My favorite daydream or fantasy is…imagining myself on a beach, listening to the waves crash down and soaking up the sun.

My favorite music is… old country, the twangy kind

Outside of my family, my most treasured belongings are… my 6 year old dacshund Sidda Lea and the old photos that I got when my grandma passed away.

When not at work, I enjoy… traveling, especially to the beach or to the lake, being outside, working in my flowerbeds, watching a good movie on Sunday afternoons, solving Sudoku puzzles, and trying to fit in a little exercise.

My friends describe me as… funny, very funny!

My opponents describe me as… tough, but easy to work with.

If I had to attempt another profession, I would try… to be a teacher, because I think it is a wonderful gift to give a child an education.

A job I would never choose to do is… doctor or nurse because I'm afraid of needles.
